Leila Ghaemi, RD, NASM-CPT

Registered Dietitian NASM Certified Personal Trainer English · Spanish · Farsi · Croatian

Hi! I'm Leila, a Registered Dietitian with a clinical background in ICU care, nutrition support and complex conditions, including oncology and liver, heart and kidney disease.

I earned my B.S. in Dietetics at James Madison University, then completed my master's degree and dietetic internship at the University of New Hampshire. Most recently I worked at UC San Diego Health, primarily covering the Neuro ICU.

I'm passionate about translating nutrition science into everyday, sustainable habits that support longevity and quality of life. As a certified personal trainer, I build your nutrition and your training into one plan.

As someone who is half Croatian and half Persian, I value the connection between food, culture and identity, and I love getting to know my clients' stories and what matters most to them. I speak conversational Croatian, Farsi and Spanish, and I'm always happy to connect in your language when possible.

Sofreh (so-FREH) is the cloth spread for a shared meal in a Persian home, set with everything the family needs and a place for everyone. Across the Balkans, the same table is called a sofra. Both sides of my family gather around one, and it's the idea behind Sofreh Health: everything your health needs, at one table.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, lifting, Pilates, concerts and beach days. I look forward to meeting you!

My approach to care

My approach to nutrition is collaborative, flexible and rooted in sustainability. I believe lasting change happens when we meet you where you are and build from there, rather than following a one-size-fits-all plan. I'm passionate about helping you take ownership of your health in a way that feels approachable and fits your lifestyle.

I also value the human side of nutrition. Your values, experiences, habits and mindset all play a role. My goal is to create a supportive, judgment-free space where you feel heard, understood and confident in the steps you're taking.

Relationship with food

No banned foods and no guilt. Habits built around the food and culture you love.

Research-focused

Every recommendation grounded in current evidence, translated into steps you can take.

Accountability

Regular check-ins and someone in your corner between sessions.
